Zhejiang Normal University is one of the key provincial universities, it specializes in teacher education with multiple branches of learning. The university consists of 16 colleges with an enrollment of over 21,000 undergraduates, 2,700 graduates, and 25,000 adult students in various adult education programs. Among the total staff of 2,374, there are 1,250 full-time teachers, including 209 professors and 549 associate professors. In recent years, ties of academic exchange and cooperation have been set up between this university and 77 foreign universities and institutes in about 40 countries.

The university provides more than 50 undergraduate and 60 postgraduate programs which are open to international students. Long-term or short-term Chinese Language and Culture programs are available for foreigners who want to learn Chinese language or experience Chinese culture. Since 2006, the university has been approved by the Ministry of Education to receive the Chinese Government Scholarship students.

 The university plays an active role in educational cooperation. In conjunction with foreign institutions of higher learning, Zhejiang Normal University operates educational programs at varying levels from certificate programs to master¡¯s degree programs. It has set up a Confucius Institute in Cameroon and a Confucius Institute in Ukraine. Strengthening and expanding cooperation areas and levels is a core strategy of the university¡¯s future development. The university opens its door widely to foreign institutions of higher learning who are interested in cooperation with us in different fields.

  Location

Zhejiang Normal University is situated in the northern suburbs of Jinhua City in central Zhejiang Province. Jinhua, with a population of 430,000 is one of the four major cities in the province. It is an important communication hub, with highways and railways linking to all parts of the province as well as to the other parts of the country. Yiwu International Commodity City is located in a county of the city with a half hour¡¯s drive from the campus.

 Campus Life

Zhejiang Normal University covers an area of over 230 hectares. The campus, cloaked with green everywhere, is an ideal place for living, study and work. Supermarkets are handy within or around the campus. Big supermarkets, such as Wal-Mart and Hymart are located at the north downtown about 2 kilometers from the campus.

Positions for the 2007-2008 academic year

 Working load: 14-16 teaching periods per week (40 minutes per periods)

Term: A contract from September 1, 2007 to June 30, 2008

Benefit:

Salary: A monthly salary ranging from 4000-5500 RMB yuan, depending upon applicant¡¯s education and experience background.
